A temperature control system is fitted which maintains the geometric stability of the CI cylinder for optimum impression during printing. The CI cylinder itself is of double wall construing and is fitted with rotary glands. The temperature control unit supplies a regulated flow of heated/cooled water to the cylinder, the unit contains a heater but uses factory supplied cooled water.

The CI temperature is controlled to within ± 0.5°C over the full width of the cylinder.

The system operates automatically for operator convenience.
